If you’d like to learn the basics about essential oils, the Aromahead Institute in Sarasota, Florida offers a free online course called Introduction to Essential Oils. The course takes about an hour to complete. You’ll walk away with a basic understanding of what essential oils are and where essential oils come from, how they are extracted, common uses for essential oils, safety, storage, dilution and blending.
I just finished taking the course and found it to be very informative. Having used essential oils in the past, I now know that there is an exact science to blending and usage. I will no longer pour lavender oil directly into a bath of running water!
When you’ve completed the free introductory course, you just might have a desire to learn more about essential oils.
