Review of 3 Pevonia Botanica Products June 15, 2009

I couldn’t wait to try my Pevonia Botanica sample products that arrived in the mail.  The box contained a white fabric pouch that looked like the material a spa robe would be made out of – a bit like a quilted waffle weave.  Very clever.  Inside the pouch, 3 trial size samples of Pevonia Botanica products.  Good size samples, in the 1 to 1.7 ounce range.  Perfect for air travel.

Pevonia Botanica Anti-Stress Bath & Shower Gel

I call this product a “spa in a bottle” because it transports me back to being at the spa.   Contains lavender, hazelnut oil and chamomile – but it’s the lavender that really packs an aromatherapy punch in this product. You can use the gel under running water in the bath or with a washcloth or loofah in the shower.

  • Love the strong lavender scent
  • Lightly foaming
  • Clean rinsing

Pevonia Botanica Silky Skin Body Scrub

Rosemary and sage are the aromatherapy stars in this scrub.  Use it in the shower, after cleansing, with wet hands or a body brush.  The product claims to eliminate rough areas.  Since it’s summertime, I don’t have a lot of rough areas – but it feels great!

  • Milky and creamy
  • Gentle yet effective grains in the scrub
  • Light, clean scent

Pevonia Botanica Tropicale Papaya-Pineapple De-Aging Body Balm

Since I tend to dislike skincare products that smell like fruit, I wasn’t sure I would like this product.  But the tropical scent of papaya-pineapple is not overwhelming at all.  Once you smooth it onto your skin, it smells even less fruity – a good thing in my book!

  • Non-greasy
  • Absorbs easily
  • Texture is a cross between a gel and a lotion
  • Light, tropical fruit scent
  • Skin still feels moisturized at the end of the day

I can’t say I noticed any “de-aging” qualities in the product, but I’ve only been using it for a few days.  The Tropicale De-Aging line also comes in mango-passionfruit.
