Introduction to Essential Oils – Free online course from Aromahead Institute July 2, 2009

If you’d like to learn the basics about essential oils, the Aromahead Institute in Sarasota, Florida offers a free online course called Introduction to Essential Oils.  The course takes about an hour to complete.  You’ll walk away with a basic understanding of what essential oils are and where essential oils come from, how they are extracted, common uses for essential oils, safety, storage, dilution and blending.

I just finished taking the course and found it to be very informative.  Having used essential oils in the past, I now know that there is an exact science to blending and usage.  I will no longer pour lavender oil directly into a bath of running water!

When you’ve completed the free introductory course, you just might have a desire to learn more about essential oils.  Aromahead Institute offers a variety of online classes and classes that are held at Aromahead Institute in an intimate, spa-like setting in a beautiful room overlooking a tropical garden and lake in Sarasota, Florida.  The classes range in length from 3 days to an intensive 15-day hands on Aromatherapy Certification.
