The Emerson Resort and Spa features two distinct accommodation styles – The Lodge and The Inn. When I visited for a girls spa weekend in October of 2006, we stayed in The Lodge. The Lodge is more family friendly and has an Adirondack decor. The Inn, not for families, was nearing completion and was set to open shortly.
Three of us fit comfortably into a two-story junior suite. A fantastic continental breakfast was included each morning of our stay, featuring some of the best homemade granola and pastries I’ve tasted.
The resort features The Country Store, a collection of upscale shops featuring high end designer items and items made locally.
The current spa was not open during my visit. Therefore, I will not attempt to review the spa. At the time of my visit, the spa was being housed in a building across the road from the main property. We all enjoyed our treatments and the spa facilities that were available.
The new spa features:
- 10 treatment rooms,
- Outdoor streamside treatment cabanas,
- Nautilus fitness center
- Outdoor hot tub
- Separate sauna and steam showers for men and women
- Yoga classes
- Spa Cafe
- Relaxation lounge
- Full service salon

Treatment prices are more than fair – most 50 minute services are $95. Now that The Inn and the new spa are open, The Emerson Resort and Spa is high on my “visit soon” list.
